美術・新宿・ココロの再発見。SOMPO美術館50周年

新宿の街で、半世紀。
多くの方々に支えていただきながら、私たちSOMPO美術館は美術のさまざまな楽しみを伝え、今を生きる作家たちを応援するとともに、対話を大切にした美術鑑賞教育支援など、芸術文化を未来につなぐ活動を行ってまいりました。

このたび、50周年を迎えるにあたり、私たちはこの地で紡いできた歴史の上に立ち、これまでとこれから、そして美術と新宿の街を結ぶさまざまなプログラムに取り組みます。

テーマは「再発見」。
たとえば、作家・作品に新しい光を当て、見る方の感性や好奇心を呼び覚ましていく。
変化を続け、時代の最先端の空気と昔からの雰囲気が混在する新宿の街の魅力をあらためてとらえ直す。
SOMPO美術館の歩みをふりかえり、あるべき姿に思いをめぐらす。
そして、作品と向き合ったときに気持ちがどのように動くのか、自分の心を再発見できる機会をご提供していく。

Half a century in Shinjuku.
With the support of many people, Sompo Museum of Art has spent decades sharing the joy of art and championing contemporary artists. Through educational opportunities by “VTS” method in art appreciation we continue fostering meaningful dialogue and carrying the spirit of culture into the future.

As we mark our 50^th anniversary, we stand on the foundation of our history, looking forward to the future while honoring the past, and engaging in programs that deepen the connection between art and the city of Shinjuku.

Our theme is Rediscovery.
We shed new light on artists and their work to spark curiosity and awaken the senses of visitors.
We re-examine the ever-evolving allure of Shinjuku, where the pulse of the present meets echoes of the past.
Reflecting on the history of Sompo Museum of Art, we ponder the joys that lie ahead.
Above all, we offer moments where visitors can reconnect with their own hearts through the experience of art.
