La lumière et le vent en Bretagne
2023.03.25(Sat)- 06.11(Sun)
End of the exhibition
Brittany is a region of northwestern France known for its scenic countryside and seascapes and unique culture. This exhibition introduces a wide range of the scenery, customs and history seen in the works of artists drawn there by the allure of Brittany. The coastline, with its deep green sea and steep cliffs, the unique landscape interwoven with plains and dense forests, and the humble lifestyles and pious faith of its people, have all sparked the interest and inspired many artists since the beginning of the 19th century. In this exhibition you can experience the beauty of Brittany, long considered France’s “frontier region,” through some 70 oil paintings, prints and drawings by 45 artists, including works from the collection of the Musée des beaux-arts de Quimper, known for its wealth of works related to Brittany.
